Program Structure
The extremely flexible structure of In The Game, is designed to cater for different circumstances from school to school, and we believe it is one of the major bonuses for schools that are considering taking part in our program. We understand that every individual school has different needs and goals, and this is why we spend time with an appropriate representative from each school to work out the best way to include an In The Game program in their current curriculum. We realise that a successful setup for one school will not necessarily be the best option for another.
The general structure of In The Game involves each class taking part in the program on a weekly basis for the duration of a term. Every lesson takes place on school grounds as an entire class, for a session lasting 30 minutes, 45 minutes or one hour. The longer sessions are usually more suitable for the older students (ie. Grade 3-6) while it is often appropriate to run 30-minute classes for the younger students. The number and duration of the sessions can of course be varied to better suit each school’s needs. Each session is delivered by a qualified and registered In The Game coach, while the classroom teacher is free to use the time for assessment and planning or alternatively, they are welcome to either observe, assist or participate in all activities.
Whether a school has 80 students or 800 students, whether they are extremely talented or are just starting out, whether the program would be run on it’s own or alongside an existing PE program, there are countless possibilities for different ways to structure an In The Game program to best complement each school’s current situation.
If you are interested in taking part in the program, even if you think that you may not be able to structure it appropriately for your school’s needs, please contact us to arrange a meeting where we can discuss the possibilities.
